Three Tries in Sixteen Minutes: Tonbridge Juddians' Unbeaten Run Ends at Birmingham Moseley

Birmingham Moseley 35-26 Tonbridge Juddians

National League 1 | Billesley Common | Saturday, 31st October 2026
Tonbridge Juddians' perfect start to the season came to an end at Birmingham Moseley, who raced into a 21-0 lead inside the opening sixteen minutes and held on for a 35-26 win despite a spirited fightback from the Kent side.
Moseley flew out of the blocks at Billesley Common. Ben Pogson scored twice inside the first six minutes, then Morgan Dawes added a third converted try on 15 minutes to put the hosts 21-0 up before Tonbridge had settled. Samuel Morton-Smith hit back three minutes later, and Harrison Sims - converted by Connor Lloyd - added a second just before the half-hour, but Moseley had the last word of the half with a fourth converted try in first-half injury time to lead 28-12 at the break.
Tonbridge pulled it back to within nine points through Oscar Waite's try on 72 minutes, converted by Connor Lloyd, and Lloyd crossed himself three minutes later - his own conversion making it 28-26 with five minutes left. Moseley held on, though, adding a fifth converted try in the final minute to see out a 35-26 win. It's Tonbridge's first defeat of the season, ending a seven-match winning run. The two sides have had tight meetings before: Tonbridge won 31-17 when they hosted Moseley last October, before this same away fixture at Billesley Common finished level, 27-27, in January.
