About Us

About West Kent Local News

West Kent Local News is an independent local news platform focused on stories, events, and issues that matter to people living across the West Kent region.

In a world where we are constantly bombarded with information from national and global sources, we believe that a local point of view still matters. Context matters. Place matters. Community matters.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide clear, relevant, and locally grounded news that helps people understand what is happening around them - not just what happened, but why it matters locally.

We focus on accuracy, fairness, and relevance, with the aim of supporting informed conversations within our communities.

What We Cover

We cover a wide range of topics affecting everyday life in West Kent, including local news, community events, local decision-making, business developments, culture, and sport.

From time to time, we also report on national or global developments where they have a clear relevance to local communities - whether through their impact on daily life, local services, the economy, or the wider social conversation.

Our focus remains firmly local, with wider stories included only where they help provide context, understanding, or clarity for people living in West Kent.

Supporting Local Community & Businesses

West Kent Local News exists to support the wider local community. We believe strong local businesses, organisations, and initiatives are essential to healthy towns and villages.

If you are a local business, community group, or organisation with an idea, story, or proposal for collaboration, we are open to exploring ways we can work together in a transparent and community-focused way.

Our Values

• Accuracy: We strive to verify information and correct mistakes openly
• Independence: We aim to report fairly and without undue influence
• Community: We exist to serve local people and local interests
• Transparency: We are open about what we do and how we do it
