Babajide's Goal and a Harness Penalty Save Earn Tonbridge Angels Another 1-0 Win

Tonbridge Angels: Bunmi Babajide (27')

Bunmi Babajide's first-half volley proved enough for Tonbridge Angels, but it was goalkeeper Nathan Harness who made the game safe. Babajide broke the deadlock on 27 minutes, meeting a Hayden Bullas cross on the volley and guiding it past Hemel 'keeper Michael Johnson. Ten minutes later Hemel had the clearest route back into it: Josh Green was brought down in the box and referee Jake Allsopp pointed to the spot. Lee Angol's effort was almost a carbon copy of the penalty Hemel missed against Angels a month earlier - Harness read it again, diving low to his right to push it past the post.

Angels had chances to extend the lead either side of the penalty - Jephte Tanga was narrowly off target after a Babajide through-ball, and Alfie Pavey struck well from distance without keeping his shot down - but 1-0 proved enough. It's a second straight league win by that scoreline, following Frankie Baker's late winner at Maidenhead last weekend, and moves Tonbridge up to sixth in National League South. Manager Alan Dunne told the club's own media afterwards: "I was pleased with our goal because we've been working hard on that this week, putting balls in the box and Bunmi did well to get on the end of it... let's not forget Nathan's save. He's been outstanding for me since he's come here and he loves saving penalties. It's like scoring a goal for a 'keeper."
