300 Games at the Gallagher: Maidstone United's Home Record by the Numbers

Saturday's 2-1 win over Slough Town wasn't just three points - it was Maidstone United's 300th league game at the Gallagher Stadium since the club returned home in the summer of 2012, after two decades with no permanent ground of their own in the town following their liquidation in 1992 and years spent playing home fixtures at Dartford, Sittingbourne and elsewhere. To mark the milestone, the club has published a full breakdown of who they've faced, who they've beaten, and how crowds have changed across fourteen seasons back in Maidstone - and a couple of the numbers line up neatly with what we've already been reporting.

Frequent visitors, and the two clubs who've had the better of them

Of the 114 different league opponents to have visited the Gallagher since 2012, Hemel Hempstead Town and Hampton & Richmond Borough have made the trip most often - seven times each. At the other end of the scorecard, Bromley and Ebbsfleet United have proven the toughest visitors - and Ebbsfleet's most recent win there came only last week, the 3-1 result on 27 October that knocked the Stones off top spot in National League South.

The record home win is still the 8-0 demolition of Enfield on 24 February 2026, and the heaviest defeat a 5-1 loss to Chelmsford City on 3 September 2024, back before promotion to National League South. Three matches share the record for most goals in a single game at the ground, nine each time: a 5-4 defeat to Walton & Hersham in August 2012, a 7-2 win over Hampton & Richmond Borough in January 2014, and this April's 5-4 win over Hornchurch - the nine-goal thriller we covered as it happened.

Alex Flisher is the only player in the top three of both lists below (23 goals, 85 appearances) - a reminder of how much of this record has been built by players who stayed for years rather than passed through.

*2026-27 season still in progress. Figures are average attendances across home league matches each season, via Maidstone United. The gap in 2020-21 reflects crowds being barred from grounds under COVID-19 restrictions, not a loss of interest - attendances recovered to a peak the following season before settling back into the 2,100-2,400 range seen since.

Fittingly, Maidstone's next away trip - Saturday 7 November - is to Hemel Hempstead Town, the club that's visited the Gallagher more often than any other in these 300 games. Source: Maidstone United
