Gravata and Foran Goals Keep Maidstone United Top of National League South

Maidstone United: Leone Gravata (4') Taylor Foran (49')

Maidenhead United: Josh Coley (57')

Maidstone United needed just four minutes to get in front, Leone Gravata stretching to poke in after Maidenhead failed to clear a corner routine involving Nana Boateng and Ken Charles. Maidenhead grew into the game after that - Josh Umerah twice went close, first turning away from George Fowler only to see his shot come back off the bar, then heading over a corner when well placed - but the Stones doubled their lead early in the second half when Taylor Foran, off balance, somehow steered home a Riley Court corner that had drifted all the way across the six-yard box.

Maidenhead hit back within a minute of their own substitution: Josh Coley, on for David Mantle at the break of the hour, met a low cross from Jayden Mitchell-Lawson and finished into the corner just 60 seconds after coming on. It set up a nervy final half hour, but neither side created much more of note and Maidstone held on for all three points - enough to keep them top of National League South.
