A Dozen Business Support Groups, One Room: Free Networking Event Comes to Sevenoaks This Tuesday
Anyone running a business in West Kent, or thinking about starting one, has a new free event to put in the diary. West Kent Business Connections takes place from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday 10 November at The Stag Plaza, part of The Stag theatre complex in Sevenoaks, bringing together around a dozen local business support organisations under one roof.
It's organised by Invest West Kent, the cross-council business support service that works across Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Malling and the wider West Kent area to help businesses start up, grow and relocate - a genuine local initiative rather than a private conference, and free to attend.
Who's attending
Confirmed organisations give a short introduction to who they are and how they can help, rather than a formal presentation:
- Kent and Medway Growth Hub
- West Kent Chamber of Commerce
- Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce
- West Kent Business Start Up
- Produced in Kent
- Social Enterprise Kent
- Department for Work and Pensions
- Built by Dads
- Mums in Business Network
- Sevenoaks Mums
- Invest West Kent
- Business Tree Consultancy
What to expect
The morning starts with informal networking from 10am, followed by a welcome from Invest West Kent and 60-second introductions from each organisation attending. There's also a short "Business Boost" session on whether LinkedIn is actually working for your business, alongside plenty of time to talk to individual organisations over refreshments. The organisers describe it as a relaxed, drop-in morning rather than a structured conference - aimed at anyone from someone with the beginnings of a business idea to an established owner looking for funding, mentoring or networking contacts.
It's free, but Invest West Kent is asking people to book a place in advance through Eventbrite, since numbers in the Stag Plaza are limited.
