Sevenoaks Has Three Places to Work Locally - and the Council Runs Two of Them

Working from a coffee shop gets old fast, and not everyone has room for a home office. If you're after a proper desk somewhere else in Sevenoaks district, there are three real options right now - and two of them aren't run by a private company at all. Sevenoaks Town Council and Sevenoaks District Council each operate their own shared workspace, alongside one independent operator in the town itself.

LIME TREE WORK SHOP occupies a converted warehouse at 11 Lime Tree Walk, in the middle of Sevenoaks town centre - 4,500 square feet spread across three floors. It offers hot desks, dedicated desks and private offices, plus meeting rooms for four or eight people that can be booked by the hour or the day. Hot desks are available 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Outside working hours, the ground floor turns into an events space, hired out for networking evenings, wine tastings and pop-up supper clubs.

Sevenoaks Business Hub opened on 8 June 2021, built onto the side of Sevenoaks Town Council's own offices on Bradbourne Vale Road. It has five single private pods, 13 hot desks, a meeting room, a café/kitchen area and an outdoor deck, open seven am to nine pm, six days a week, bookable from half a day up to a month. There's free on-site parking, an EV charger and shower rooms. The Sevenoaks District Chamber of Commerce is now headquartered there too, though you don't need to be a member to book a desk.

Over in Swanley, Sevenoaks District Council runs its own version at 29 High Street - The Meeting Point, opened in 2023. It offers hot desks, a boardroom, flexible events and breakout space, an on-site concierge and business support packages, with refreshments, printing and Wi-Fi included.

Two different councils, in the same district, have each chosen to invest directly in local flexible workspace - alongside one independent operator doing much the same thing a few minutes down the road. Between the three, anyone in Sevenoaks district who wants a proper desk without committing to a home office or a daily commute now has genuine choice: an independent space with its own character in the town centre, and two council-backed hubs, one by the Town Council's own offices and one over in Swanley.

This is what we've found looking into it - if there's another space in Sevenoaks district we've missed, let us know and we'll add it.
