Eden, the intimate evening restaurant inside the Hever Castle Estate near Edenbridge, has been added to the Michelin Guide - bringing Kent's total number of Michelin Guide restaurants to 28. The listing, confirmed on Michelin's own website, marks Eden as a "NEW" entry, only months after it opened.
The restaurant
Eden is a small, intimate restaurant set within the heart of the Hever Castle Estate, named after the River Eden that runs through the grounds - the historic Kent estate once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII. It serves a tasting menu built around locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, with vegetarian, pescatarian and plant-based versions available on request. According to Hever Castle's own website, Eden began taking bookings at the end of June 2026 and is open Tuesday to Friday evenings, exclusively for accommodation guests and evening diners.
The chef behind it
Eden is led by Culinary Director George Blogg, a Master of Culinary Arts from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts whose career has taken in some of Britain's most celebrated kitchens, including The Square in London and Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham. His Michelin-star credentials come from his previous role as Executive Chef at Gravetye Manor in West Sussex, where he held the star for ten consecutive years - Eden itself is a new Michelin Guide entry, not yet a starred one. He's joined at Eden by Executive Head Chef Adam Smith, who worked alongside him at Gravetye Manor for more than six years and has also since earned his own Master of Culinary Arts award.
What Michelin says
Eden's Michelin Guide entry - Hever Road, Hever, TN8 7NG - lists its cuisine as Modern British and recommends it for a date night. Michelin's review, quoted on Hever Castle's own site, reads: “A balanced tasting menu of dishes crafted with exacting sophistication.” The restaurant's own listing on Michelin's website describes “the majestic Hever Castle Estate” as making “a fine home for this intimate, elegant restaurant.”
Kent's Michelin scene
Eden's addition takes Kent to 28 restaurants in the Michelin Guide, according to Michelin's own county listing. West Kent already has one other entry:
Shwen Shwen in Sevenoaks, which earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand earlier in 2026 for its West African-inspired cooking - a very different kind of restaurant, and proof the county's Michelin presence now stretches from an affordable neighbourhood favourite to a historic-estate tasting menu.
