Tonbridge Juddians Stay Unbeaten With Thriller at Bishop's Stortford

Bishop's Stortford 32-36 Tonbridge Juddians

National League 1 | Hadham Road | Saturday, 10th October 2026
Tonbridge Juddians survived a nine-try shootout at Bishop's Stortford to stay unbeaten in National League 1, edging a game that swung back and forth all afternoon 36-32.

A frantic first half

Oscar Waite went over inside four minutes to put the Juddians ahead, and tries flowed from both sides for the rest of the half - Mathis Dehauteur, then a quickfire double from Reggie Hammick, levelled it up for the hosts before Samuel Morton-Smith and Connor Lloyd put Tonbridge back in front. A Ben Morrow penalty brought Bishop's Stortford back within range, and a further try from Harrison Langworthy kept the visitors ahead going into the second half.

Juddians hold on

Connor Lloyd - among the Juddians' most reliable kickers this season - added his second try of the afternoon early in the second half and landed three conversions in all, while Samuel Morton-Smith grabbed his second too. Bishop's Stortford refused to go away, with Sevanaia Kava and Thomas Hitchcock both crossing to keep the home side within touching distance, but Tonbridge held on for a 36-32 win - their sixth from six league games this season.
