Thirteen Fixtures, Four Boroughs: West Kent's Football, Rugby and Cup Weekend

Three football matches and six rugby fixtures across all four boroughs this weekend - starting with a congested National League South where Maidstone United lead and Tonbridge Angels are closing in, and a Regional 1 South Central table now topped by both Sevenoaks RFC and Tunbridge Wells RFC at once. West Kent's Southern Counties East League clubs are also in cup action today in the Kent Senior Trophy First Round. Below, league (and cup) by league: the fixtures, where and when they kick off, and each team's current form.

Football: Maidstone top, Angels chasing in ninth

National League South fixtures
Tonbridge Angels v Hemel Hempstead Town — Longmead, Sat 3pm
Maidstone United v Maidenhead United — Gallagher Stadium, Sat 3pm
Form (last 5 league games, oldest to newest):
Tonbridge Angels: ✓✗−✗✓
Hemel Hempstead Town: −−−✓−
Maidstone United: ✓✓✗✗✓
Maidenhead United: ✓✗−✓✗
Tonbridge Angels host Hemel Hempstead Town at the Yeomans Community Stadium (Longmead) at 3pm - a fixture rearranged forward from its original January date. Angels sit ninth in National League South on 17 points from 11 games, five behind leaders Maidstone United, and go into it on the back of Frankie Baker's late winner at Maidenhead last weekend. Hemel sit 14th on 14 points but arrive unbeaten in five, with four clean sheets in that run - manager Alan Dunne says the challenge is converting Angels' good home performances into home wins, something that's eluded them more than their excellent away form this season.

Maidstone United host Maidenhead United at the Gallagher Stadium, also 3pm, sitting top of the division on 22 points after seven wins from 11 - this just days after Alfie Tuck left the club by mutual consent. Maidenhead arrive off the back of that defeat to Angels, with a mixed WDLDWL run in their last six.

Cup football: four West Kent clubs in the Kent Senior Trophy, including a derby

Kent Senior Trophy, First Round fixtures
Rusthall v Phoenix Sports — home, Sat 3pm
Tunbridge Wells v Kennington — home, Sat 3pm
Snodland Town v Faversham Strike Force — home, Sat 3pm
Staplehurst Monarchs v Bearsted — home, Sat 3pm
Four of West Kent's Southern Counties East League clubs are in cup action today rather than their normal league fixtures, as the Kent Senior Trophy reaches its First Round. The pick of them for local interest: Staplehurst Monarchs host Bearsted in an all-West-Kent derby tie. None of the eight clubs involved today had reliable recent form available from a primary source in time for this preview - SCEFL's own results page runs on an embedded widget that doesn't expose scores to a text read, so rather than guess we've left form out of this one. Normal SCEFL league fixtures, and these results, will be covered in our usual Monday round-up.

Results to follow

We'll report on how each of the fixtures above goes as results come in over the weekend.
