Where to Find the Cheapest Petrol and Diesel in West Kent This Week

Every fuel retailer in the UK is now legally required to report pump price changes within 30 minutes, under the Government's Fuel Finder open data scheme, which came fully into force in May 2026. That means it's now possible to see, forecourt by forecourt, exactly who's charging what across West Kent - and the gaps between the cheapest and priciest options in the same borough are bigger than you might expect.
In Maidstone, the cheapest unleaded this week is 167.9p a litre at the Texaco on Ashford Road, against 179.9p at the borough's priciest Shell sites - a gap of 12p a litre, or well over £6 on a full 55-litre tank. Tonbridge & Malling's cheapest is 171.9p at Tesco's Aylesford superstore; Tunbridge Wells' cheapest is 169.9p at Stanleys of Marden and Sainsbury's; and Sevenoaks' cheapest is 174.9p at the Tesco superstore in Riverhead.
Supermarket forecourts and independents tend to undercut the motorway-adjacent Shell and BP sites fairly consistently across all four boroughs, which lines up with the wider pattern retail analysts have pointed to nationally since Fuel Finder launched: prices vary more by who owns the site than by which town it's in.
We'll be keeping an eye on this regularly rather than as a one-off. The full, sortable list of every forecourt we could find in the four boroughs - updated periodically as prices move - is available on our Fuel Prices page. Source: UK Government Fuel Finder
