Teenager Arrested Over Graffiti and Paint Damage Across Swanley

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after several businesses in Swanley town centre were damaged with graffiti and paint, in a spate of vandalism that also hit Swanley Recreation Ground and the town's train station over a single weekend.
Kent Police is investigating several incidents of criminal damage targeting town centre premises and the Recreation Ground over the weekend of 19 and 20 September. British Transport Police is separately investigating graffiti daubed at Swanley train station over the same period.

Arrested and bailed

As part of their enquiries, officers arrested a local boy, who has since been bailed while investigations continue. Chief Inspector Paul Diddams said: "Investigations remain ongoing and my team will explore every line of enquiry available to bring those responsible to justice. The impact of such criminal damage on our community is not lost on us, and we have worked with partner agencies as part of our enquiries to help ensure the vandalism and paint is cleaned up so people can continue to enjoy Swanley town centre and everything it has to offer."
