Snodland Town Knock Higher-Ranked Margate Out of the FA Cup

Margate 1-3 Snodland Town

Emirates FA Cup, First Qualifying Round | Hartsdown Park | Saturday, 5th September 2026
Snodland Town: Nathaniel Olawole (3'), Ben Fitchett (15'), Kian Scott (28')
Snodland Town produced the standout West Kent result of the weekend, winning 3-1 away at Margate to move into the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.
The Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side led 3-0 inside half an hour at Hartsdown Park, with two goals in the opening quarter followed by Kian Scott's strike before the half-hour mark. Margate, of the Isthmian Premier Division and several rungs higher up the non-league pyramid, pulled a goal back but never seriously threatened the outcome.
Olawole and Scott have been Snodland's most reliable forwards this season, both among the goals in recent league wins as the club has climbed towards the top of the SCEFL Premier Division. The win keeps them in the FA Cup for another round.
The win keeps Snodland in the FA Cup, with the second qualifying round to follow later in the month. Their next game is a West Kent derby away at Tunbridge Wells. Coverage of the rest of the West Kent SCEFL weekend follows in Monday's round-up.
