Sevenoaks Vine and Tunbridge Wells were both left without completed matches in the Kent Cricket League Premier on Saturday, 6 June, after their fixtures were abandoned.
Sevenoaks Vine were due to host Whitstable at The Vine, but the match ended without a result. No batting score was recorded on the scorecard, and both sides were awarded nine points.
Tunbridge Wells had the same outcome away to St Lawrence & Highland Court at Highland Court. That fixture was also abandoned, with Tunbridge Wells taking nine points from the match.
For both West Kent sides, it was a frustrating way to spend a Saturday. Instead of a chance to build momentum on the pitch, Sevenoaks Vine and Tunbridge Wells had to settle for shared points and move on to the next round of league fixtures.
The scorecards for both games showed no completed overs, no wickets and no runs, so there were no individual batting or bowling performances to report.
Still, in a long Kent Cricket League Premier season, even abandoned-match points can matter. Sevenoaks Vine and Tunbridge Wells both leave the weekend with something on the board, even if neither side had the chance to properly influence the result.
Attention now turns to their next Premier Division fixtures, where both clubs will be hoping for better conditions and a full afternoon of cricket.
