Sevenoaks Wants Ideas for What to Do With the Old Greatness Pavilion

There's a building standing empty at Greatness Recreation Ground, and Sevenoaks Town Council wants to hear what you'd do with it. The old Greatness Pavilion - a function room, small kitchen/café, toilets and showers, right by the car park - was the football club's home until last month. Now that Sevenoaks Town FC has moved into its new £2m clubhouse next door, the Town Council is inviting Expressions of Interest in what the old pavilion becomes next.

What's actually on offer

The pavilion itself is a modest, brick building - nothing fancy, but genuinely useful: a function room big enough for meetings or small groups, a kitchen/café area, and toilets and showers already plumbed in. The council says it's keen to hear from anyone with ideas for a use that complements what's already happening around it - and Greatness Recreation Ground has a lot going on. Beyond hosting Town FC's matches and training, the site is getting a new playground and an outdoor gym by the end of this year, plus further landscaping this autumn, as part of the wider redevelopment the council has been rolling out alongside the new clubhouse.

How to put your name forward

Expression of Interest forms are available to download at sevenoakstown.gov.uk/eoi-greatness-pavilion, and need to be back with the Town Council by 31 December 2026. From there, it's over to councillors: the Community Asset Committee is due to consider every idea that comes in at its meeting on 25 January 2027. Source: Sevenoaks Town Council
