The company that runs The Pig & Pickle, the pub on the A25 at Seal Chart, has gone into liquidation. A notice in The Gazette records a creditors' voluntary liquidation from 11 September, less than a year after the pub opened. The notice doesn't say whether the pub has stopped trading, and its website still advertises normal opening hours.
The simple version
The Gazette notice names the company as Ghost (KH) Limited and gives its trading name as The Pig & Pickle. It gives the principal trading address as Crown Point Inn, Sevenoaks Road, Seal Chart, TN15 0HB. It records a creditors' voluntary liquidation, which is when a company that cannot pay its debts is wound up by agreement of its members and creditors. A liquidator, Kevin Weir of Hudson Weir Ltd in London, was appointed on 11 September 2026 by the creditors and members. His job is to sell what the company has and pay creditors as far as the money goes.
Is the pub still open?
We don't know. As of Saturday 26 September the pub's website still listed opening hours of noon to 11.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday and noon to 9pm on Sundays, closed Mondays and Tuesdays, with a table-booking button. The liquidation is of the company that operates the pub, not necessarily of the pub itself, and the notice says nothing about trading. The premises could carry on under a different operator. Questions about its status go back at least to early August, when a post in a Borough Green community group on Facebook asked whether the pub had closed and drew a lengthy comment thread. Those comments are personal opinion and unverified, and we haven't repeated them. We haven't been able to reach the pub, so it is worth checking before you travel.
What Companies House shows
The company was set up on 16 March 2022 as The Crown Point Pub Limited and renamed Ghost (KH) Limited in April 2023. Its business is registered as public houses and bars. Its filings show it submitted dormant accounts each year, the latest to 31 March 2025, a period that ended before the pub opened. One director stepped down on 4 June 2026. On 8 September Companies House published a first notice of compulsory strike-off, which was suspended on 18 September and discontinued on 23 September. The company's registered office moved to the liquidator's address on 22 September. A statement of affairs, the document that sets out what a company owes and to whom, was filed on 23 September. We haven't seen its contents, so we can't say how much is owed.
Background
The pub's own website says it opened on 1 December 2025. CAMRA's listing says the building reopened in December 2022 after a long closure and refurbishment, closed again on the death of its owner, and reopened in early December 2025 under new owners and a new name. Neither the notice nor the company filings say why the company is being wound up.
Who to contact
The Gazette notice gives the liquidator's contact details for further information: Hudson Weir Ltd on 020 7099 6086 or insolvency@hudsonweir.co.uk. Anyone who thinks they may have a claim on the company, including anyone holding a voucher or a booking deposit, can contact the liquidator's office. We have no information on what, if anything, the company owes, because we haven't seen the statement of affairs. Sources:
