Outdoor cinema is returning to Tonbridge Castle this summer, with film fans invited to enjoy a comedy favourite under the stars.
Cinestock will bring its open-air cinema experience back to the castle grounds on Saturday, 22 August 2026, with a screening of Bridesmaids.
The event follows last summer’s cinema nights at the castle, when audiences watched Mamma Mia and The Goonies in the historic grounds. The screenings proved a popular addition to Tonbridge’s summer calendar, combining a relaxed night out with one of the town’s best-known landmarks.
This year’s screening will see the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids shown on the big screen in the grounds of Tonbridge Castle. Gates open at 7pm, giving visitors time to enjoy the setting before the film begins at 8.30pm, shortly after sunset.
The ticket includes access to the grounds from 7pm, with pre-film entertainment from either a live DJ or acoustic performer. Food, cinema snacks and drinks will also be available on site, including a full bar.
Bridesmaids, rated 15, follows Annie as she tries to hold things together after being asked to be maid of honour for her best friend Lillian. The film became a modern comedy favourite thanks to its mix of chaotic wedding disasters, sharp humour and moments of genuine friendship.
Cinestock says the event is suited to couples, groups of friends and older families.
Visitors should note that outside food cannot be brought to the screening, and the site will be cashless, meaning only card payments will be accepted on the night.
Guests should also come prepared for the British summer weather. Cinestock says outdoor screenings normally go ahead in the rain and are only cancelled if conditions become unsafe for the audience or staff. Umbrellas are not allowed during screenings as they can block the view for other people, so visitors are advised to check the forecast before travelling and dress appropriately.
The Tonbridge Castle event is part of Cinestock’s 16th summer season of outdoor cinema, with screenings taking place across July, August and September at venues across Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Tickets are available through Cinestock.
