Residents across Tonbridge and Malling are being invited to recognise the people and organisations making a real difference in their communities, as nominations open for this year's Community Awards Scheme.
Organised by Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, the annual awards celebrate those who dedicate their time, skills and energy to improving life for others. The scheme recognises volunteers, community groups, young people and organisations whose efforts often take place behind the scenes but have a lasting impact on local communities.
This year's awards include five categories:
- Community Champion of the Year
- Individual Volunteer of the Year
- Young Community Champion (17 years old and under)
- Outstanding Community Group
- Environmental Contribution Award
- Community Safety Award
The council is encouraging residents to nominate anyone they believe deserves recognition, whether it is a neighbour who is always ready to help, a young person making a positive impact, or a local group working tirelessly to support the community.
Councillor Des Keers, Cabinet Member for Community Services, said the awards are an opportunity to celebrate the people whose commitment helps make Tonbridge and Malling a better place to live, work and socialise. He added that the council hopes to shine a spotlight on those who generously give their time and passion to support others.
Nominations are open to all residents of the borough and will close on 1 October 2026.
Anyone wishing to nominate an individual, group or organisation can complete the online nomination form on the Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council website.
