Maidstone voters asked to help improve polling stations across the borough

People living in Maidstone are being encouraged to share their experiences of voting as part of a review that could influence where polling stations are located in future elections.
The borough council has launched a public consultation to find out whether current polling places still meet the needs of local communities. As neighbourhoods grow and change, the review will consider whether existing venues remain practical, easy to reach and suitable for voters.
Residents are invited to comment on anything that affects their voting experience. This could include how easy it is to get to their polling station, whether parking is available, if the building is accessible for people with disabilities or even suggest a better location that could be used in future.
The consultation is open to both individual residents and community groups, with feedback helping the council decide whether any changes should be made before the next elections.
Anyone wishing to take part has until 19 August 2026 to submit their comments. The proposals can be viewed online or in person at Maidstone House by appointment.
Residents can find more information and complete the consultation on the council's website: Maidstone Borough Council – Polling Place Review
