Maidstone and Tonbridge Angels Women Both Win to Progress in the FA Cup

It was a good weekend for West Kent's women's teams in the FA Cup, with both Maidstone United and Tonbridge Angels coming through their first qualifying round ties.

Croydon Women 0-5 Maidstone United Women

Women's FA Cup, First Qualifying Round | Croydon Sports Arena | Sunday, 6th September 2026
Maidstone United Women: Megan Wood (48'), Jaz Etheridge (58'), Ellie Hinkley (64', 89'), Chloe Brian (76')
Maidstone dominated the first half without scoring - Jaz Etheridge crashed an effort from 35 yards against the post, Ellie Hinkley was sent clear only to find the side-netting, a Millie Waud finish was ruled out for offside and another effort was cleared off the line. The floodgates opened after the break. Megan Wood lashed home three minutes into the second half, Etheridge turned in a Kylie Manktelow corner, and Hinkley pounced on a spilled shot to make it three inside the hour. Chloe Brian bent in a left-footed fourth and Hinkley added her second late on to complete a 5-0 win for Tori Campbell's side.

Hollands & Blair Women 1-3 Tonbridge Angels Women

Women's FA Cup, First Qualifying Round | Sunday, 6th September 2026
Tonbridge Angels Women: Grace Mayhead (2), Faith Gilson
Away at a Hollands & Blair side who play a division below them, Tonbridge Angels were 3-0 up by half-time. Grace Mayhead struck twice - first firing over the goalkeeper after seizing on defensive uncertainty, then poking home from eight yards - before Faith Gilson added a third from 25 yards. Hollands & Blair pulled one back early in the second half and had the better of the closing stages, but the Angels saw the tie out in what the club called one of its best team performances of the season so far.
Both clubs go through to the Women's FA Cup second qualifying round, with the draw to follow. Tonbridge Angels Women return to league action next weekend away at Three Bridges. Source: tonbridgeangels.co.uk
