Mabledon Boot Fairs are back at Mabledon Farm in Southborough, offering a popular Sunday morning spot for bargain hunters, families and sellers looking to clear out unwanted items.
The boot fair is held at Mabledon Farm, London Road, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, TN4 0UQ. It is also very convenient for people travelling from Tonbridge, and is well connected for visitors from Sevenoaks via the A21.
Gates open from 6am and there is no need for sellers to book in advance. Payment is taken on arrival, after which staff direct sellers to their pitch. Sellers can stay as long as they like, although most people usually begin packing up around midday. Anyone needing to leave earlier can speak to a member of staff, who will advise them how to exit safely.
Seller prices are £12 per car, £14 for vans and £16 for large vans, with trailers costing an extra £2. Buyers pay £1.50 per person to enter.
Toilets and refreshments are available on site, making it an easy morning out as well as a chance to find second-hand goods, household items, toys, clothes, tools, books and the usual mix of unexpected car boot finds. It can get especially busy when the weather is nice, so visitors may want to arrive early for the best choice and easier parking.
Sellers are advised to bring a table, a blanket or ground sheet, and some small change. Most items can be sold, but illegal goods, forgeries, weapons and live animals are not permitted. Homemade cakes and sweets are usually allowed, but catering vans must be arranged in advance.
Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a lead, and owners are asked to clean up after them.
