Police Appeal After Dead Puppies Found in Field Near Detling

Kent Police have opened an investigation and appealed for information after the remains of several puppies were found in a field near Detling.
The force said a member of the public found the remains at around 3.10pm on Monday 10 August, in a field close to the Detling Community Store and Post Office in Pilgrims Way. Officers who attended later located several further shallow burial sites in the same field.
The appeal was issued on 4 September, almost four weeks after the discovery. Detectives said they are working with partner agencies to establish what happened to the animals and how they came to be at the site.
"This is a deeply upsetting incident and investigators are working with partner agencies to establish what happened to the animals and how they arrived at the site," said Detective Inspector Tristan Stevens, who asked anyone with information, or with CCTV in the area, to come forward.
