Stalemate at Horsham as Chances Prove Scarce

Horsham 0-0 Maidstone United

National League South | Fusion Aviation Community Stadium | 11th April 2026
After the chaos of their nine-goal thriller earlier in the week, this was a completely different kind of game for the Stones. Slower, tighter, and lacking real attacking quality from either side.
The first half summed it up. Riley Court came closest early on with a free-kick that drifted just over, while at the other end Lenny Holden was forced into a solid save to deny Charlie Hester-Cook.
That was about as good as it got before the break.
The second half followed the same pattern. Plenty of effort, but very little cutting edge. When a chance did finally open up, it fell to George Fowler, whose effort forced a strong save from Lewis Carey.
Maidstone pushed a bit more late on, with Fowler going close again and Sam Corne seeing a deflected effort go wide in stoppage time, but it never quite felt like a goal was coming.
The only real blow for the Stones came late in the game, with Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong forced off through injury shortly after coming on.
In the end, a point apiece was a fair result. Not a classic by any means, but after the madness of Monday, this was more about discipline and staying solid.
For Maidstone, the bigger picture remains unchanged. Still within touching distance of the play-offs, but with little room left for slip-ups.
