Grosvenor & Hilbert Park has been named Large Park of the Year 2026 for the South & South East region, the top honour the RHS Britain in Bloom competition hands out at park level.
A Victorian park still winning awards
Designed by Robert Marnock in 1889, Grosvenor & Hilbert Park has grown over the decades into one of Tunbridge Wells' best-loved green spaces - taking in a lake, wetlands, woodland, a community orchard, a bowling green and a network of paths linking Grosvenor Recreation Ground to Hilbert Woods. The Friends of Grosvenor & Hilbert Park, the volunteer group that champions the park, announced the win on social media, thanking Tunbridge Wells Borough Council's parks team, contractor Tivoli, the Kent High Weald Partnership and the group's own volunteers for the work behind it.
