Garden Fire Spreads to Three Properties in Tonbridge, One Treated for Burns

A fire that broke out in a garden in Tonbridge spread to multiple neighbouring gardens and three properties yesterday morning, with one person treated for a minor burn at the scene.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Shipbourne Mews at 11.25am on Tuesday 25 August. At the height of the incident, six fire engines and a height vehicle were in attendance, with crews wearing breathing apparatus using hose reel jets and main jets to bring the fire under control.
One person suffered a minor burn and was treated at the scene by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service. Kent Police also attended to support the operation. Shipbourne Mews was closed while crews tackled the blaze, but had reopened to traffic by the afternoon, with crews remaining at the scene damping down hotspots and clearing debris from the affected gardens.
