Four teenage boys have been arrested after two mopeds were allegedly stolen from Fremlin Walk car park in Maidstone town centre in the early hours of Wednesday 23 September.
Kent Police were called at 12.55am to a report of a group of teenagers wheeling two mopeds away from the car park, before making off towards the A229 Fairmeadow. Officers attended and, following a short foot pursuit, arrested a 17-year-old boy from Sheerness and two 16-year-old boys, one from Rochester and one from Maidstone, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. A fourth suspect, a 15-year-old boy from Rochester, was arrested later in connection with the same incident.
Both mopeds have since been recovered, along with a suspected stolen e-bike found during subsequent enquiries. All four boys have been bailed pending further investigation.
