CCTV appeal after theft from elderly woman's car in Sevenoaks

Kent Police are asking for the public's help after an elderly woman had personal belongings stolen from her car in Sevenoaks.

The incident happened at around 11am on Thursday, 25 June, in the Sainsbury's car park on Otford Road.

According to police, a woman in her 70s was approached by a man and a woman while she was beside her dark grey Toyota Aygo. As the pair distracted her in conversation, officers believe a third person stole her mobile phone, purse and card wallet from inside the vehicle.

Investigators have now released CCTV images of three people they would like to identify as they may be able to assist with the investigation.

Police are asking anyone who recognises the people shown in the images, or who has information about the incident, to contact them on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/102488/26.

Residents are also reminded to keep valuables out of sight and lock their vehicles, even when only stepping away for a short time, as distraction thefts often rely on creating a brief moment of confusion.
