106 New Affordable Homes Begin Handover at Woodland Place

A major milestone has been reached at Woodland Place, where 106 new affordable homes have begun handover since March marking a significant step forward in addressing housing demand across Kent.
The development delivers a wide mix of properties, ranging from two-bedroom flats to spacious four-bedroom family homes. Designed with long-term sustainability in mind, the majority of homes achieve impressive EPC A ratings and are equipped with modern energy-efficient features such as solar panels, air-source heat pumps, and electric vehicle charging points. These additions not only reduce residents’ carbon footprints but also help keep energy costs lower over time - something that matters more than ever right now.
But Woodland Place is not just about buildings - it’s about building a community. The site has been thoughtfully planned to encourage connection and wellbeing from day one. Two new play parks will provide safe, welcoming spaces for families, while the preservation of a historic WWII pillbox ensures that local heritage remains part of the area’s identity.
There is also a strong focus on supporting residents beyond the bricks and mortar. Penenden Heath Developments Limited, the project’s contracting partner, is contributing social value initiatives, including funding welcome events to help neighbours connect and offering early support for those facing financial hardship.
Anabel Palmer, Executive Director of Property Development and Partnerships, highlighted the importance of the project: It’s fantastic to see residents moving into their new homes at Woodland Place. These 106 new homes reflect our ongoing commitment to providing affordable, energy-efficient places for people to live, especially at a time of real housing pressure across Kent. We’re really excited to welcome our residents and see this new community take shape.
With handovers now underway, Woodland Place is quickly transforming from a construction site into a living, breathing neighbourhood-one that combines sustainability, affordability, and a strong sense of community.
